‘A wee dauner doon the Calton’ 18 Sept 2016

(Glasgow: on the 2nd anniversary of the Scottish Independence Referendum)

En route to Glasgow, we were treated to the inaugural tourist tour of the east end of Glasgow by Peter Curran, erstwhile denizen of Dennistoun. A good lunch at Drygate Brewery, to the amusement of the waitress, who genuinely believed we’d only been let out for the day. Get ready for the National Yes Registry IndyApp! « Wee Ginger Dug

Guest post by Jason Baird of the National Yes Registry

Hello Wee Ginger Duggers and thank you so much to the WGD (and Paul of course) for allowing me this opportunity to describe what the National Yes Registry IndyApp project is all about before we finally launch it for public download on September the 18th. The IndyApp is a bespoke networking tool for the Yes movement. It is FREE to all participating groups and designed to allow those grass-root groups to work effectively together, share resources, experience and campaigning ideas. It will allow mentoring and mutual support among pro-Indy activists, encourage new community groups to form and dormant groups to reform.

On Monday 5 September 2016, Robin McAlpine will speak about Strategies for Independence and then answer your questions. All welcome! 5 Sept 19.30, Clermiston Inn function room (round the back, upstairs), 9 Rannoch Rd, Edinburgh, EH4 7EG. RSVP on our Facebook event page.

Robin has written regularly in Common Space that we need to target our independence campaigning very cleverly because we won’t persuade everyone. He also cautioned about putting too much store in the Brexit effect and this school of thought seems to be borne out by recent polling. For instance a recent YouGov poll found that although 12% of NO voters currently would vote YES in an indyref2, 13% of YES voters would actually vote NO!
